The four-way intersection between Jalan Mayjend Soetoyo and Jalan Let. Jend. Panjaitan is an unsignalized intersection that experiences delays and congestion, especially at certain times, such as during peak morning and evening traffic hours. This location serves as a meeting point for several important routes in Kebumen, namely Jl. Mayjen Sutoyo which connects the east and west, Jl. S. Parman, and Jl. Let. Jend. Panjaitan which heads north. Considering its function as part of a regional road, this intersection holds a very important position as the main route for vehicles to various surrounding destinations. This study aims to measure the number of vehicles passing through this section and assess its performance using several predetermined traffic benchmarks. These benchmarks include intersection capacity, density level, and delay period. Based on the data obtained, the average width of the entry lane (WI) of this intersection is 4.85 meters. The total traffic volume (Qtot) passing through this intersection reached 1749 pcu/hour, while the actual capacity (C) was recorded at 2746 pcu/hour. The density level (DS) was recorded at 0.64, indicating that vehicle movement at this intersection is still acceptable. The duration of vehicle delays was also calculated, with the results that the delay at the intersection (DT1) reached 6.56 seconds/pcu, the main lane delay (DTMA) was 4.90 seconds/pcu, the secondary lane delay (DTMI) was 15.52 seconds/pcu, and the intersection layout delay (DG) was 4.02 seconds/pcu. Overall, the delay at this intersection (D) was recorded at 10.56 seconds/pcu.References
