Abstract

Pedestrians are road users who are vulnerable to accidents because the impact is direct on the body and without personal safety equipment, so the fatalities they experience are greater than other road users such as motorbike riders who use helmets and cars that are protected from the impact of accidents. In this research, the Pedestrian Risk Index (PRI) value is used as a calculation to analyze the safety level of road crossings. This research data is in the form of traffic conflict data obtained from observations on Jalan Cik Di Tiro, Sleman, Yogyakarta which were taken on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 06.00-08.00 to represent the morning, for the afternoon 11.00-14.00 and for afternoon 16.00-18.00. The results of the analysis show that the average PRI value for single crossings is 139.2, while the average PRI value for group crossings is 9.52. These results show that the PRI value individually is much greater than in a group, meaning that it is safer to cross in a group than alone or alone.
