This study aims to describe efforts to improve the ability to recognize numbers of children aged 4-5 years using ice cream sticks in Prince Diponegoro 2 Kindergarten, Giritirto, Karanggayam District. Kebumen. The hypothesis in this study is the Stick Figure playing strategy can improve the counting skills of the beginning of the Stick Figure playing strategy in Pangeran Diponegoro 2 Kindergarten, Giritirto, Karanggayam District, Kebumen Regency. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were Prince Diponegoro Kindergarten 2 students with a total of 16 students. The research model used is the Kurt Lewin model. Data collection techniques are done through observation, testing and documentation. Data collection instruments used were guidelines for observing students' activities and initial counting skills using the stick number strategy. Data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results showed that the students 'numeracy ability by using the stick stick strategy in the students' numeracy learning at Pangeran Diponegoro 2 of initial counting skills increased from pre-action namely 37.5% to 56.25% in the first cycle and in the second cycle to 81.25%. These results indicate that the learning strategy of playing with stick numbers can improve the initial numeracy ability in numeracy learning for Prince Diponegoro Kindergarten 2 students Giritirto.
