This research aims to improve aspects of early childhood language development. This study focuses on children's ability to recognize letters through flannel board media in children aged 4-5 years. This research in the background is still lack of ability to know letters caused by learning methods that are not optimal and learning media are less attractive in children, still using magazines and worksheets, this proves from the results of early pre-acting ability to know letters as much as 30.55%. This study is a type of class-action research with kemmis and taggart models with stages of planning, implementation and observation, reflection. This research process is carried out 2 cycles at the end of the even semester of the 2020/2021 school year. The data collection methods in this study use observation and documentation methods. The data analysis in this study uses qualitative data and quantitative data. The subjects of this study were 4-5 year olds as many as 18 children in RA Tarbiyatul Masyithoh Pengempon. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that through the flannel board media can improve the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4-5 years RA Tarbiyatul Masyithoh Pengempon. Judging from the results of pretindakan increased in cycle I, which is from 30.55% to 54.16%. And in cycle II it increased to 86.45%.
