Abstract

This study aims to improve the improvement of cutting skills through demonstration methods for children aged 3-4 years in the Putra Giri Harapan Play Group, Giri Purno Village, Karanganyar District, Kebumen Regency. This research is motivated by the lack of skills and learning outcomes in cutting because the teacher has not used appropriate learning methods, so that the learning outcomes of children are low, of the 12 successful children only 5 children. This research is a Class Action Research with Kemmis and Taggart models with stages of planning, action and observation, and reflection. The research process was carried out in 2 cycles, namely Cycle I and Cycle II in March to June 2020. The research subjects consisted of 12 children aged 3-4 years consisting of 4 boys and 8 girls. Data collection techniques used observation and documentation. press the data analyst using quantitative and qualitative descriptive. Based on the results of research conducted shows that cutting skills can increase after the action. Demonstration method which is done in stages can improve cutting skills in pre-action shows an average result of 16.67%. In cycle I it increased to 41.67% and cycle II increased to 75%. Thus the demonstration method can be used to teach cutting skills.
