The Merdeka Belajar Curriculum is a curriculum approach focusing on freedom in designing and implementing curricula. The implementation of this curriculum requires a deep understanding of its application across various educational institutions, including Early Childhood Education (PAUD). This study aims to explore the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 86, East Jakarta, with a specific focus on early childhood education through independent learning via play. The research methodology employed is qualitative descriptive, using interviews with the head of the TK as the primary source, conducted on March 19, 2024. Data collected were analyzed to gain a profound understanding of how the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum is practiced daily at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 86. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 86 has been effectively carried out. The emphasis on developing children's creativity and critical thinking has fostered a learning environment supportive of holistic child development. Project-based learning approaches have enhanced interactivity and relevance of learning to daily life, aligning with the goals of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum which emphasize student freedom and independence. This study underscores the importance of implementing the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum in early childhood education, demonstrating its potential to significantly enhance the quality of learning.
