Clean and healthy living habits (PHBS) must be instilled from an early age, particularly in elementary school students. Washing hands with soap and disposing of waste properly are fundamental practices that prevent the spread of diseases and maintain a clean school environment. However, direct observations revealed that second-grade students in Phase A at SDN Ampelsari have not yet adopted these habits, as they often forget to use soap and frequently litter. This community service project aimed to guide and train 25 second-grade students at SDN Ampelsari to develop clean and healthy habits, focusing specifically on proper handwashing with soap and correct waste disposal. The initiative involved the active participation of students, homeroom teachers, and university students. Utilizing a participatory approach with a hands-on, learning-by-doing method, the project was carried out in several stages: preparation, school coordination, material presentation, a demonstration of the six-step handwashing technique, direct practice, an educational game on waste types, and a final evaluation. The results showed that the students enthusiastically engaged in all activities, which significantly improved their understanding of correct handwashing procedures and proper waste sorting. Furthermore, these activities successfully raised the students' awareness of the importance of personal hygiene and routine school cleanliness. Teaching children to wash their hands with soap and dispose of trash correctly serves as a simple yet effective solution to foster lifelong healthy habits from an early age in elementary schools
